Hands On activities

Wheel Thrown Pottery
Try your hand at throwing on the potter's wheel with the assistance of an expert. Create a small air dry clay pot to take home.

Gyotaku Fish Printing
Join local artist, Dave Maas, and record your catch on the Mississippi. Gyotaku is the traditional Japanese method of printing fish, a practice which dates back to the mid-1800s. Choose from multiple rubber molded fish and multiple colors to create your masterful print.

Community Art Mural
Paint a precut piece of a mural and place it on the mural in a designated spot. As all the pieces are placed an artwork will reveal itself that we all created together.

Still Life
Draw part or all of the large still life that will be full of interesting objects. Local artists will be working this area to help get you started.

Photo Opp Garden

This area of the Midsummer Arts Faire has bloomed and itโ€™s all for YOU!  Stand for a photo opportunity in one of our hand-painted masterpieces, including pieces created by the Quincy High School and Quincy Notre Dame art clubs.
