Children’s hands-on Art Activities

Join The Art Academy at the Faire - a place where kids can experience art on a whole new level. All of the Children’s Hands-On Activities are FREE and open to kids of all ages from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 11am to 4pm on Sunday. Here’s what we have planned:
- "Splatter Time" Wall Paintings Slinging paint is a child favorite. This activity will allow Faire-goers to place their very own white boards on our special paint wall and create a Jackson-Pollack inspired masterpiece by throwing, dripping and dragging their favorite colors until they have just the right look.
- "Summer Art" Mosaics Kids will design a brightly colored mosaic with various summer art themes by placing paper tile colors on a round flat base that, when glued and glazed, will be perfect for hanging up and showing off.
- Whimsical "Heart Art" Along with the theme of this years Arts Faire, "Love Art?", this space will be set up for children to draw and paint with the unique energy and explosive color of internationally-acclaimed artist Keith Haring. His graffiti-inspired art was full of bold lines and active figures, and is sure to be a hit at this year’s event. And when their paintings are full, they’ll be free to continue this theme with chalk along the children’s art area sidewalk.
