Saturday, June 25th, 10AM - 5PMPresented by the Quincy Art Center
The Quincy Art Center will be providing free children's "Artivities" with a Japanese theme that, between you and me, is quite fishy. With our creativity we will beckon the wind to send our handmade Koinobori soaring. A koinobori is a traditional Japanese fish wind sock. We will also explore tactile and visual texture as we ink, rub, and print from rubber molds of fish. Gyotaku is a traditional form of Japanese fish printing used by fishermen to record their catches.
Presented by Quincy University
For Sunday's Midsummer Arts Faire Children's Hands-On "Artivities," Quincy University will assist children in being creative with origami, marble painting on paper, and sidewalk chalk drawings.
