Children's hands-on Art Activities

Quincy Art Center

Presented by the Quincy Art Center

Children can "Make Art Happen" at the Faire with the Quincy Art Center. All of the Children’s Hands-On activities are FREE and open to kids of all ages. Hours: Saturday 10 am–5 pm and Sunday 11 am–4 pm.

  1. Marbling Magic!
Turn the ordinary into extraordinary! Who ever thought paper could look this cool? Using a traditional paper marbling technique, kids will turn plain paper into a colorful masterpiece. Add a little drop of this and few drops of that – stir, slice, print and like magic plain white paper becomes a beautiful note card or book cover.
  2. Stop and Smell the (Paper) Flowers
Let your imagination bloom. Join us for a lesson in origami folding; children will make a beautiful garden bouquet that never wilts! Use your imagination to create one of a kind flowers like a tiger-striped rose, spotted tulips, black orchids, you decide. Share your bouquet with someone special or take it home to brighten up your room.
  3. Dressed to Impress
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it’s insanely big bow ties. The world’s longest tie. Over the top fantastically fun hair bows. Kids will use paper, cardboard, paint, things that sparkle, and things that jiggle. Let your imagination be the guide to create these accessories for your walk on the wild side.
